Gather is moving!
We found a new home, and we are SO EXCITED!
Since the Spring of 2023, after a fire irreparably damaged our worship space, we have been in a search for a more permanent home. While at the Heights Theater, our Staff & Board have explored several other long-term options, but none have been a fit for our unique community
We are so happy to announce the search is over! Beginning April 6, we will be meeting at 2515 Waugh in Montrose. We will be joining two other amazing organizations in partnership in a historic church space. The space houses Kindred Church (an LGBTQ+ affirming church that hosts dinner church on Sunday evening) and Grace Place (our beloved partner that serves unhoused youth of all sexualities & genders). There is so much good to come in the future!

FAQs
Where?
The new space is located at 2515 Waugh, a historic building in the heart of Montrose.
When?
Our first Sunday worshipping will be April 13th. We are hosting a community open house on April 6th. That means our final Sunday at the Heights Theater is March 30th.
Why?
While the Heights Theater has been such a great space for us since the fire that happened in spring 2023, it has always been a temporary lease. We have been looking for somewhere more permanent for quite some time — somewhere all of our community members are wholly welcomed, a place where our kids can feel safe and have plenty of space to play, and a place where we can all feel at home. 2515 Waugh checks all those boxes and more!
Will we still be involved in Missions & Outreach?
Wholeheartedly YES! Since we’ll be sharing a space with Kindred and Grace Place, we will have direct opportunities to support them through missions and outreach every week. We will also, of course, continue serving with our other community partners and look forward to establishing more.
Where do we Park?
This building has two different lots — one off of Van Buren behind the building, and one off of Missouri. There’s also street parking along these streets. We will send a more detailed description and map soon!
Is there space for kids?
Yes! We will finally have “real” kids classrooms. The kids programming will be in three connected rooms in the ‘wing’ of the church behind the sanctuary. These will be used by our infants through pre-k kids. Our elementary kids will be released during the service like we do now to do their programming in the fellowship hall. Overall, we are sooo excited for the designated spaces for kids! Our open house Sunday on April 6th will involve walking everyone to and through these spaces.
How does this impact the Budget?
In short, in a very positive way! The rent we pay for this building will be significantly cheaper than what we’ve been paying for the theater, storage, and our office each week. We are also excited to use our ‘building fund’ that we have saved for this exact moment for some renovations that are taking place before we meet there in April.
What is the expected capacity & Utility?
As mentioned, it’s an old church building with lots of space. Since we are sharing it with 2 other organizations, we will not have free reign of the whole building, but we do have multiple rooms that we will occupy that are exclusively available to Gather 24/7. There’s plenty of space for us to show up and feel comfortable both on Sunday and during the week. On our open house Sunday on April 6th, we will show you all the rooms that are ours to use.
What help is needed?
As of now, there are no specific ‘work days’ for our transition, but we do still need your help! Spread the word about our move, and show up for our open house and first Sunday (and as many Sundays and events thereafter!!). We will also be very specific about adjusting some volunteer opportunities, so please be on the lookout for those! We hope you’re as excited as we are!
